My blog is one year old today! Im eating cake in celebration and dancing to all the happening the tunes as I type this! Everyday we wake up in the morning and must put on clothes. What we choose to wear can be for many different reasons whether it's for comfort, religious affiliations, cultural backgrounds, or just to flat out express ourselves and personal point of views of our style. For me dressing up is a major way I like to voice myself and this blog has helped me do so. A very good friend of mine pushed me in the direction of starting this baby up and was a huge part of the photography. Thank you to all of you who contributed to taking photographs, who became inspiration for an idea bursting inside of my head or for just being positive encouragement and for all the awesome feedback!

LACMA/ Earth Spirit Lookbook

The day consisted of roaming around LA first stop the LACMA for school purposes. Thanks Ron Alan for the lovely photos! It's always a pleasure to shoot with him when I get the chance. After we headed over to Robertson Blvd. to do some shopping at LF Stores by the time we arrived it was already closed! Super bummed since they were having a blowout sale 60% off the whole store! I've been drooling over their Earth Spirit Lookbook. I can't help but wonder if they had me in mind when designing these pieces??!!! The cape-like blouse, bohemian inspired accessories, over sized knits, fringe/ slouchy detailing, earth tone colors, everything I wanted and more!

I wasn't ready for the photo. I am fully aware that I look like a total dork but I still likey..For some odd reason it reminds me of Terry Richardson's style of photography. That up close and personal vibe.



I am a sucker for high-waisted shorts. I'm pretty sure I own over five pairs of these babies in different washes and fits. This Andy Warhol clutch is my ultimate favorite of all time! It defines me in a clutch, I was known as JoanaBanana since I was a child and everytime I see something with a banana I go "bananas?!!!?".
I took Trixie out for her first Taco Tuesdays as a 21 year old! We both are putting our great minds together and collaborating on projects for the future. It's super awesome to have never-ending conversations with someone who has an overflow of love and appreciation for the same thing.

Jen Kao Spring 2011 RTW

A range of muted colors and a variety of crochet knits to flowy long length skirts. I can not get over those macrame sandals! I love the color palette she used for the collection. I know I am a major fan of prints but it's sort of a breath of fresh air to have these beautiful nude tones that will never be out-dated. I should work in solids more often.

I styled Lil J for her birthday dinner extravaganza. It makes me super happy when she comes prancing in my room asking me to outfit her. I'm glad I could turn a stressful situation such as not knowing what to wear into a fun filled night because she is now confident that she looks good...and SHE DOES "OH HOLLAH!"

Pamela Love is my favorite jewelery designer at the moment. I spend hours drooling over her one of a kind pieces!
